Queer It Up! Call for Performers

QUEER IT UP! 2011 CALL FOR PERFORMERS

Queer It Up! 2011, part of the Pride Week in Peel events, is taking place on
Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Port Credit Memorial Park

Are you a performer? Identify as LGBTTIQQ2S?
Associated Youth Services of Peel (AYSP), the East Mississauga Community Health Centre (EMCHC) and Peel HIV/AIDS Network (PHAN) are calling amazing performers to participate in the 4th annual Queer It Up! Community Fair, celebrating LGBTTIQQ2S* communities in Peel Region.

Since 2008, we have seen amazing drag, spoken word, dance and musical performances at Queer It Up! In 2011, we are looking forward to even more talent.

In particular, we are seeking performances from LGBTTIQQ2S community members who are often underrepresented, including racialized individuals, transsexual and transgender individuals, immigrants and refugees.

Performances will take place on a small stage in the Port Credit Memorial Park. While we will have some sound equipment, please do let us know what you need well in advance and understand if we are not able to provide all of the equipment you need.

Honorariums are available for performers.

Your name will be listed in the program for the day under “Performers.”

Please get in touch with
·         your name, what type of performance you would do (and if you have a stage name),
·         your performance type (and if you have a stage name)
·         your requirements for the performance (technical, change room, etc.)
·         your accessibility needs
·         your connection to LGBTTIQQ2S communities and to Peel Region
·         a brief bio, including where we may have seen you before!
